Safety in Schools:

There's no nationwide rule for having AEDs where young people gather, and state requirements vary.

Until that changes, local communities need to come together to make sure places where athletes play are safe.

If a doctor diagnoses your child with a heart condition, they are entitled to AED access at school or on trips, as part of their 504 Plan or IEP. Learn more at the Department of Education.

If insurance is denying an RX for an AED from your doctor, LifeSure might be able to help.

Useful Forms:

Staying updated with regular physicals, including a thorough cardiac risk assessment, is crucial for ensuring the safety of student-athletes during play.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that athletes and their families complete a medical history form before their physical examination.
